Lorsque vous décrivez
Une forme, une couleur ou un son,
N'exposez pas l'affaire clairement,
Mais glissez-la dans une allusion ;
Et apprenez à regarder toute chose
Avec une sorte de strabisme mental.

Contexte et précisions
En anglais : "When you are describing,
A shape, or sound, or tint;
Don’t state the matter plainly,
But put it in a hint;
And learn to look at all things,
With a sort of mental squint."
